Playground Under Construction

Mt Hermon Church is building a children's playground! When complete, the new outdoor area will feature a tree house with ladder, slide, swings, and fireman's pole, plus a climbing rock, a picnic table, and flowers. Construction has been under way for almost a month, during which time the tree house has literally taken shape. (It looks a little like Noah's Ark!) A fence is to go up in the coming weeks, bulbs will go in the ground, and plans are being made to deliver a boulder for generations of climbers to enjoy. Thanks to all who have cleared, cut, cleaned, built, donated, planned and tested, we are almost there! Dedication of the playground is planned for Sunday, April 27, 2014, following 11:00 am worship. Please join us for a grand celebration of our newest addition.

At Mt. Hermon, the Kirking is not only an opportunity

active in Madison County, supporting people in need,
giving educational opportunities and spiritual sustenance.

"How Children Succeed"

Mount Hermon Church is hosting an eight-week-long parent workshop based on the recent book, "How Children Succeed - Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character," by Paul Tough (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Publishing Company, 2012). The workshop is free and open to all parents of children ages birth to 10 years. It uses a casual discussion format (we fully intend to learn from one another) and meets each Wednesday night, August 21 to October 9, in the church fellowship hall from 7:30 until 8:30. The community is invited to participate. For more information email Teresa at mthermonpreschurch@gmail.com.
