Mount Hermon and Ila Baptist Come Together for Thanksgiving Service

Mount Hermon Choir at Ila Baptist
One of our longest continuing traditions is the joint Thanksgiving service with Ila Baptist. Each year, one congregation hosts the service in their church, with the visiting congregation's choir providing the music and its minister giving the sermon.

This year, Mount Hermon was the guest of Ila Baptist. Rev. Teresa Franklin's sermon on giving thanks drew on the Gospel of John, Chapter 6. Our choir sang three songs: "A Round of Thanks," "Prayer of Being," and "Down to the River to Pray."  The entire offering collected at the service was donated to the Madison County Food Bank. After the service, we met for fellowship and food.

Thanks to Rev. Tim Peek and the Ila Baptist congregation for having us.  We look forward to hosting next year's service.  Happy Thanksgiving to all!
